A priority Human Proteome Project is a continuation based on the international Human Genome Project finished in 2001-2003 and is directed to the generation of knowledge by post-genome technology. The priority Human Proteome Project provides a participation of Russian Federation in the eponymous international Project.
The concept of national phase of the Project divides the activities into 2 parts. The first part of the Project is a Russian part of the international Project according to the goals and directions coordinated with the international HUPO organization. This part in its preliminary form includes an identification of protein and peptides coded by 18th human chromosome in some sources of biomaterial and a creation of corresponding instrumental and procedural framework.
